U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Saturday on X
handle that American forces completed a third major round of precision
airstrikes against military targets across Iran, responding to a fresh attack
by Iranian forces on a commercial vessel in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
In the latest barrage, U.S. land- and sea-based fighter
aircraft, armed drones, and naval warships targeted approximately 140 Iranian
military installations. CENTCOM stated the precision munitions struck key
infrastructure, including missile and drone launch sites, naval assets,
ammunition storage facilities, communication networks, and coastal surveillance
positions.
During three nights of strikes this week, CENTCOM has struck
more than 300 targets at the direction of the Commander in Chief to degrade
Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels freely
transiting the strait. Commercial vessel transits through the vital
international maritime corridor continue.
